So, since it’s going back to school week and
I’m still on my Must Watch Classics series, I thought to watch The Breakfast
Club. This is “The” classic Teen School movie that in an hour and a half
portrayed the main stereotype of high school students (of course in the
American culture).
The story about 5 students who had to spend
Saturday day in detention. You have the Princes, Claire (Molly Ringwald), The football player, Andrew (Emilio Estevez ), The brain,
Brian (Anthony Michael Hall ), the shy
and awkward, Allison (Ally Sheedy) and the criminal
to be Bender (Judd Nelson ). They’re all stuck together
all day, so they start on getting on each other nerves, but then the situation changes.
I’m really getting into the 80s time, the music
and the cloths, but not the hairstyle. Anyway, the movie is really good. It’s
more than your normal teen movie, that’s why its timeless. It talks about
different adolescent issues as each character portray the positive and negative
parts of their lives and showcase how they became the way they are.
It shows the pressure they face and the
hardship of everyday simple life and the decision they have to make and the
uncertainty of their future. It’s a very good movie to be watched by teenagers
and parents to understand them more. We were all teenagers one day, but as we
grow older we forget the confusion of that time.
To portray all of this through just sitting in
a library all day long without using any effects or setting is just brilliant.
Just by the use of words and script with some behaviors makes the movie clean
and to the point. It’s the strength of the cast as well that made us believe
them.
So, this is a great go back to school movie and
a for sure a MUST WATCH CLASSIC!
Till again!
