Movie Review: How To Train Your Dragon 2

Ok, so from my review on the first part (click here) you would know that I loved this movie dearly! Now in this sequel, 5 years later the village of Berk continues to live in harmony with Dragons! The peaceful living is disturb when Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) with Toothless stumble into a new lands with new dragons. The land is controlled by a Dragon Master, Drago (Djimon Hounsou), who ruthlessly treats dragons as his weapons of destruction!  Other than that Hiccup is surprised to meet the one he always thought was dead, his mother (Cate Blanchett, who I adore!!).

I will say no more about the story, because this is just a drop in the plot! But I will say this, I love love love this movie!!! I was so into it, super excited and caught into that amazing world of Vikings and Dragons that I didn’t even take notes for this review. This part still kept all what is good in the first one, still funny, adventurous, witty and plain cute! Then it added a whole bundle of great new elements to it!

I was blown away by the flying maneuvers and technics used. Being 5 years together Hiccup and Toothless needed to show how much they bounded and the animators did a marvelous job! They added new stuff and moves. I was breath taken! You can tell their attention to detail and research on flying and of course the money spent on it hahaha.

I even cried! “You have the heart of a Chief and the soul of a Dragon”

There’s no more to say, Go WATCH IT! And please do watch the first one too, if you haven’t yet. It’s better to get into the world from the start <3

Such an AMAZING and thrilling dragon ride!!

Btw, I just realized that the movies are based on books written by Cressida Cowell. To check them in Amazon, click here. For more info and to watch the trailer, click here.

Now if you excuse me, I need to pack and go to Berk!! Bye!

Movie Review: Robin Hood

Many weeks ago I've bought Robin Hood's DVD, director's cut, but I didn't have the time to watch it till now. I've been dying to since I saw the movie in theater and I was hooked.
I love history as I said in older posts and my favorites are myths and legends. Those stories that we can never be sure they happened. I think that give them a bite of mystery and magic ;).
Anyhow, who doesn't know about the legend of Robin Hood? I mean same old story, but in this movie we are shown the past and how Robin Longstride became the "Robin Hood".  The movie has a sense of reality in them (I guess I feel that because the only other version was the Disney one :p with the animals).
The movie is epic and it had a sense of humor; a good combination. It should defiantly be a Classic! I LOVE this movie and yes, I know I love a lot of movies, but this one is for those who enjoy heroism, romance, epic, battles, fighting for a cause, actions and of course, the touch of destiny.

I can't also talk about this movie without talking about the amazing, Cate Blanchett. Her acting is one of my favorites. In this movie she really caught the essence of her character, Lady Marion. She was spontaneous in her acting and very very believable. She's one of those actors that I wish I could write a part for her and maybe I will one day.
Russell Crowe <3 I don't think it'll be fair for me to write a review about him while little hearts floats around my head as I write this post, hehehe. But *waving the hearts away* Russell Crowe is perfect for these kind of roles. I knew that since I saw him in Gladiator. His voice, his eyes and the way he moves are just the right elements for a true warrior. And who knows, maybe he was one in a previous life.
I really enjoyed the movie and I will see it again! There was not one single moment of boredom. Very entertaining and full of excitement.

Movie Review: Hanna

The reason why I wanted to see the movie, Hanna, was Cate Blanchett; she is just amazing!! I mean her acting reached perfection!!!
I am biased because she's in it ;p but the movie was an average one. We laughed a little bit and I liked how Saoirse Ronan acted. She has a bright future!
But it was predictable and the story repeated.  The story of Hanna who was trained to kill is a story we've seen before, like in Salt. The best scene I've seen was in the trailer. That’s why I hate trailers!! They ruin the movie.
The story and the mystery of Hanna wasn't explained in a good way, I mean we knew it all by the first half an hour and some of the fight scenes seemed fake.
What I really hated about the movie was Tom Hollander, I mean he's great normally, but this time couldn't capture the personality of the psycho.
It was fun, but I won't buy the DVD, so here you go :p.
